On Tuesday November 15th, Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld and officers from the BPD joined President Barack Obama and thousands of police officers from across the country to honor the men and women killed in the line of duty.
At a ceremony at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C., officers from the Baltimore Police Honor Guard, Central District, Special Operations Section, Criminal Investigation & Patrol Divisions joined the family of fallen Officer William H. Torbit in honoring his legacy of service.
To the Torbit family - our promise to you is that we will never forget. We will never forget Will's service, his ultimate sacrifice, or the joy that his life brought to so many. While we can never replace the loss that your family has endured, you will always be part of the Baltimore Police family and we pledge that we will support and care for you just like Will supported and cared for our City and our Department.
May his memory live on and may God bless Officer William H. Torbit.
