Northern District Shooting Investigation

On April 2, 2024, at around 5:28 p.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of Greenmount Avenue to investigate a call for a three-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 76-year-old male suffering from numerous gunshot wounds in his vehicle. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was being treated for his injuries.

Detectives located a crime scene in the 5300 block of York Road.

Northern District Shooting Investigation responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Eastern District Homicide Investigation

On April 2, 2024, at approximately 1:07 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of East Lafayette Avenue to investigate a shot-spotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital, and despite medical efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital staff.
