About CDIU
The Consent Decree Implementation Unit (CDIU) has three main responsibilities:
- Developing policy
- Assisting Education and Training with elearning and in-person curriculum creation and facilitation
- Guiding, tracking, and reporting on the implementation of the reforms required by the Consent Decree
CDIU works closely with a variety of stakeholders, including the Department of Justice, the court-appointed Monitoring Team, BPD and community members, to draft policies and trainings that reinforce constitutional policing practices. The policy, training, and reporting process described above frequently includes opportunities for BPD and community members to provide feedback.
