Central District Fatal Vehicle Collision

On October 18, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to a fatal vehicle collision near the intersection of Cathedral and Centre Streets.

A 41-year-old male operator of a commercial truck sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

CRASH Team investigators arrived and assumed control of the investigation.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the commercial truck drifted downhill, striking the operator. The truck then collided with four vehicles, before crashing into a building in the unit block of W. Centre Street. Two of the vehicles were unoccupied. The drivers of the other two vehicles, a 27-year-old male and a 27-year-old female, were transported to a local hospital and were last listed in stable condition.

Building inspectors were called to the scene to assess any potential structural damages.

The fatal victim has been identified as 41-year-old Michael Bost of Baltimore.
