18-year-old charged with two homicides and six non-fatal shootings

In reference to two homicide shootings that occurred on March 23, 2023, in the Northern and Western Districts, investigators have arrested 18-year-old Jabre Griffith of Baltimore.

On June 6, 2023, members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force WATF were able to locate and apprehend Jabre Griffith at Dunbar High School and take him into custody without incident.

Detectives believe  Griffith shot and killed Micah Strong and wounded a 2nd victim in the 5400 block of York Road. Detectives also believe Griffith shot and killed Ernest Hall and injured five other victims in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue.  

Detectives transported Griffith to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he's been charged with two counts of Murder and six counts of attempted murder.

Northern District Homicide Investigation

On March 24, 2023, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Northern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of walk-in shooting victims.

Once there, officers located a 25-year-old female and a 26-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The 26-year-old male was pronounced dead by doctors. The female victim is currently listed in stable condition.

Officers learned that the victims were shot in the 5400 block of York Road, where officers received a call for discharging shortly before the victims walked into the hospital.

 Western District Homicide Investigation

On March 23, 2023, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue for a Shot Spotter alert.

Once there, officers located a 15-year-old male, a 24-year-old male, a 21-year-old male, an 18-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, and an unidentified adult male, all suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics responded to the location and transported the victims to area hospitals, where the 24-year-old  male is listed in critical condition. The 15, 21, 18, and 22 year-old males are all listed in stable condition.

The unidentified adult male was pronounced dead on the scene.
