Central District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Central District on September 14, 2024, investigators have arrested  19-year-old Quontay Spinks of Washington D.C.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify Spinks as the shooter in this case, and on October 30, 2024, a warrant was issued for Spinks's arrest.

On November 1, 2024, Warrant apprehension detectives along with the US Marshals Service apprehended Quontay Spinks in the 2400 block of Benning Road, NE Washington D.C.

Spinks was extradited to Baltimore City to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with  First-degree murder.

Investigators were also able to tie Spinks to other criminal activity including the shooting that occurred on September 12, 2024, in the 600 block of Light Street. Carjackings that occurred in the 1500 block of Russell Street (9/12/2024), 1900 block of Orleans Street (9/14/2024), and the unit block of South Paca Street (10/4/2024), and armed robberies that occurred in the 5700 block of Reisterstown Road (9/12/2024) and in the 200 block of East Redwood Street.

Detectives are currently working with various other law enforcement agencies in the surrounding region to further investigate Mr. Quontay Spinks's possible involvement in additional criminal inciden

Central District Homicide Investigation

On Sept. 14, 2024, at approximately 11:53 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Aliceanna Street for reports of a shooting. A 36-year-old male victim was apparently shot multiple times at that location. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
