BPD announces juvenile arrests in series of robberies, assaults and stolen auto

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) is investigating a series of robberies, assaults, and a stolen auto incident that occurred the morning of October 2, 2024, resulting in multiple arrests. 

On October 2, 2024, at around 10:02 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of West University Parkway to investigate a call for a stolen auto. During this investigation, officers were advised that the victim's vehicle, a White Toyota Rav-4, had been taken by a group of unidentified juvenile males who had pulled up next to the victim's vehicle. The suspects exited a light-colored SUV, jumped into the victim's vehicle once the victim exited their car, and fled the scene.

At around 11:37 a.m., officers received a call for an unarmed robbery in the 3600 block of Beech Avenue. Upon arrival, officers were advised by two victims that a light-colored SUV had approached them, and a group of unidentified juvenile males exited the vehicle, began physically assaulting both victims, taking the victims’ property, and fleeing from the scene in the light-colored SUV. 

Soon after, at around 11:42 a.m., officers responded to an armed robbery call in the 3300 block of Chestnut Avenue. Officers were advised by a victim that a group of unidentified juvenile males had robbed him. The victim informed officers that one suspect brandished a handgun, demanding money. The suspects stole property from the victim and fled the scene in the SUV. 

Officers then received a call for an aggravated assault at around 11:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of The Alameda. During this incident, officers were advised that a group of unidentified juvenile males exited a vehicle, approaching a victim while holding their waistbands and pockets, implying that they were armed. The victim immediately fled the area, escaping from the suspects. 

At around 11:55 a.m., officers responded to the 4200 block of Marble Hall Avenue to investigate a call for an unarmed robbery. The victim advised officers that a group of unidentified juvenile males exited a light-colored SUV, approached a victim, physically assaulted them and took their property, before fleeing the scene in the SUV. 

As the investigation progressed, BPD deployed a contingency of officers, including members of the Eastern District, Northeast District, Northern District and the Regional Auto Theft Team (RATT). With the assistance of BPD's Communication Section, five juveniles were apprehended in the Erdman Avenue and Belair Road area. The suspects, a 16-year-old male, a 14-year-old male, two 13-year-old males, and a 12-year-old male, were all arrested and transported to the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center, where they will be charged. All five suspect have previous stolen auto arrests.
