Central District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting of a 32-year-old male in the 200 block of South Broadway, back on August 5, 2023, investigators have arrested 21-year-old Jonathan Lopez of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to obtain video footage of the shooting and with the assistance of the Martinsburg Police Department, positively identify Johnathan Lopez as the shooter in the video.

On December 7, 2023, Baltimore City Warrant Apprehension detectives were notified by Martinsburg Police Department, of Jonathan Lopez's arrest on unrelated charges.

On September 18, 2024, Lopez was extradited to Baltimore City and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Jonathan Lopez is currently being held without bail.

Central District Shooting Investigation

On August 5, 2023, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Broadway to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he is being treated for his injury.

Central District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
