Central District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Central District, on November 11, 2024, a 14-year-old male suspect has been arrested.

Central District detectives discovered that the suspect shot a 15-year-old victim in the 400 block of North Caroline Street.

Investigators believe the motive behind the shooting was robbery.

The 14-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Central District Police Station on November 16, 2024. He was then transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder.

Central District Shooting Investigation

On November 11, 2024, at approximately 3:22 p.m., Central District officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 400 block of North Caroline Street.

Once there, officers located a 15-year-old male in the 500 block of North Caroline Street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid, and the victim was transported to a hospital in the area for treatment. The victim is listed in critical condition.

Central District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
