On Nov. 9, 2023, at approximately 9:58 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of East North Avenue, for a report of a cutting.

Once there, officers located a 30-year-old male suffering from apparent stab wounds to the torso.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Investigators learned that the victim was stabbed following an altercation at a business in the 2000 block of Harford Road. The victim then fled to the 1400 block of East North Avenue, where police and medics were notified.

Detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect and on November 12, 2023, obtain a warrant for the arrest of 39-year-old Demont Williams.

On Nov. 13, 2023, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Demont Williams in the 2000 block of Harford Road. 

Williams was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault and reckless endangerment.
