On October 10, 2023, at approximately 10:59 a.m., Northern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a walk-in victim seeking treatment.

Once at the hospital, officers located a 52-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent graze wound to the left arm. The victim is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary investigators revealed that on today's date at approximately 7:55 a.m., the victim stated he was walking on West 21st and Maryland Avenue when he was approached by a suspect with a handgun, demanding property. The victim then began to struggle for the gun when he was shot. The suspect fled in an unknown direction.
