Southwest District Shooting Investigation 

On August 13, 2023, at approximately 1:28 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 1600 block of Wilkens Avenue, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a crime scene inside of a business in that block. No victims were on scene.

Moments later, officers were dispatched to an area hospital in reference to a walk-in shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was immediately taken into surgery for treatment of life-threatening wounds.

Northeast District Shooting Investigation 

On August 13, 2023, at approximately 5:04 a.m., Northeast District officers were dispatched to 4400 block of Franconia Drive following a request from a medic. 

Upon their arrival, officers located a 20-year-old female with an injury, following a potential assault. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where medic professionals discovered the victim was injured from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Northeast District shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
