Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On August 3, 2023, at approximately 10:17 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 2300 block of Greenmount Avenue, for a Shot Spotter alert.

Once there, officers located a 19-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On August 3, 2023, at approximately 8:43 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 1400 Block of West Lanvale Street to investigate a reported shooting.

Once at the location, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment  and is listed in critical condition. 

Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, homicide detectives have taken control of this investigation.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On August 3, 2023, at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Russell Street to investigate a call for a vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 27-year-old male suffering from a possible gunshot wound to his head. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 410-396-2100.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On August 3, 2023, at approximately 3:56 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers located a 33-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the knee.

The victim’s injury is believed to be non-life-threatening.
