Northwest District Homicide Investigation

On October 14, 2022, at approximately 10:04 p.m., Northwest District officers responded to the 5200 Block of Nelson Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Once at the location, officers located a 45-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was later transported to an area hospital for treatment.

On February 25, 2023, Homicide detectives were notified that the victim, Mr. Harry Caesar, DOB 9/30/77, died due to his injuries, and an autopsy was conducted. On July 6, 2023, the medical examiners ruled the death a homicide due to complications from the shooting.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On July 6, 2023, at approximately 11:49 p.m., officers responded to an area hospital to investigate a call for a walk-in shooting victim while simultaneously responding to a ShotSpotter Alert at the intersection of West North Avenue and North Fulton Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers observed a 35-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim was shot at the intersection of West North Avenue and North Fulton Avenue.

Western District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this Investigation.

Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On July 6, 2023, at approximately 6:38 p.m., officers responded to an area hospital to investigate a call for a walk-in shooting victim.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 20-year-old female suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her arm.

 

Preliminary Investigation revealed that the victim was shot in the 4500 block of North Rogers Avenue. 

Northwest District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
