Media Advisory: BPD addresses recent crime

Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 27, 2023) – From Monday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 26, the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) arrested hundreds of individuals responsible for crimes in our neighborhoods, significantly enhancing public safety in Baltimore City.  

In the last week, the BPD has made more than 200 arrests including two attempted murder arrests, eight robbery arrests, 17 handgun violations and 26 narcotic arrests. Additionally, 18 juveniles were arrested for various crimes including carjacking, stolen auto, handgun violation and felony narcotics.  

Some significant arrests include:

  1. Northern District Stolen Auto Arrests: On Nov. 26, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Officers observed a suspicious vehicle with multiple occupants near the 4400 block of Park Heights Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle, in which all of the occupants attempted to flee on foot. Officers placed seven juveniles under arrest ranging in age from 12- to 15-years-old, and they were transported to juvenile booking. 
  2. Northwest District Armed Robbery & Handgun Violation Arrest: On Nov. 25, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Roslyn Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. At the scene, officers located a 30-year-old female who informed officers that she was held at gunpoint and money was stolen from her. Officers located the suspect, 61-year-old Kirk Rodney Ross (a repeat violent offender) on scene and placed him under arrest. A handgun with an extended magazine was also located.
  3. Southern District Armed Carjacking Arrests: On Nov. 24, at approximately 10:46 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Wegworth Lane for an armed carjacking. During the investigation, officers learned that three juvenile suspects approached a 76-year-old male, pointed a weapon at him and demanded his keys. Citywide Robbery Detectives were able to locate the vehicle and arrest three suspects; two 15-year-old males and a 14-year-old male. All three suspects were transported to juvenile booking. Officers have also learned that one of the 15-year-old suspects had been arrested three times for stolen auto offenses.
  4. Southeast District Robbery & Assault Arrests: On Nov. 22, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Eastern Avenue and South Patterson Park Avenue to investigate a report for an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised by a 29-year-old male that he was physically assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by four unidentified males. Upon canvassing the immediate area, officers located the four males, later identified as a 13-year-old, two 17-year-males and 18-year-old Keyshawn Holland. All four individuals were positively identified as the suspects involved in this incident and were placed under arrest.
  5. Eastern District Handgun Violation and Narcotics Arrest: On Nov. 22, at approximately 6 p.m., officers were patrolling near the 1800 block of N. Chapel Street when they initiated a car stop. The vehicle fled from police and Foxtrot was able to track the vehicle. Two suspects attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly apprehended. Police arrested two 15-year-old males and transported them to juvenile booking. Officers recovered a stolen handgun and narcotics on scene. Officers have learned that one of the suspects has been arrested previously for narcotics. 

BPD continues to work in partnership with local law enforcement agencies and engage with our communities to increase visibility, deter criminal activity, and identify and apprehend violent offenders. Year-to-date, total adult arrests have risen by 5% and total juvenile arrests have risen by 28.5%.
