Northeast District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the shooting that occurred on November 2, 2023, in the Northeast District, investigators have arrested a 15-year-old male.

Investigators learned that the 15-year-old suspect was involved in a physical altercation with an unidentified male when the 47-year-old male victim attempted to intervene. 

During the physical altercation, the suspect withdrew a firearm, discharged it, and struck the 47-year-old male victim in the ankle.

Northeast District detectives continued investigating this case, identifying the 15-year-old suspect and obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

On November 6, 2023, detectives arrested the 15-year-old suspect and transported him to Central Booking Intake Facility where he was charged as an adult for attempted first-degree murder.

Northeast District Shooting Investigation

On November 2, 2023, at approximately 4:41 p.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of Belair Road to investigate a reported shooting incident.

Once at the location, officers located a 47-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right ankle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
