Northwest District Fatal Hit and Run Crash

On August 14, 2023, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Northwest District patrol officers responded to the 3700 block of Liberty Heights Avenue, for a report of a hit and run crash.

Once there, officers located an 88-year-old female driver, inside of her vehicle, with front end damage.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where she later died.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 88-year-old victim was proceeding through the intersection of Liberty Heights at Callaway Avenue, with a steady green signal, when the driver of white pick-up truck, drove through a steady red signal colliding into victim's vehicle.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the location, driving Northbound onto Callaway Avenue from Liberty Heights.

After speaking with witnesses at the scene, investigators believe suspect was possibly operating a white Ford F150 flatbed truck. Due to the crash, the truck should have front-end damage.
