On May 25, 2023, at approximately 11:10 p.m., members of the Homicide and Eastern District Action Team arrested a 17-year-old male at a residence located in the 1600 block of Mullikin Court.

Detectives believe that the 17-year-old suspect shot two 19-year-old males, killing one, later identified as 19-year-old Dabrae Edwards. Both victims were shot on May 19, 2023, in the 200 block of East Street.

Detectives transported the 17-year-old to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with 1st Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder and various handgun violations.

Southeast District Homicide Investigation

On May 19, 2023, at approximately 8:41 p.m., Southeast District officers responded to the 200 block of East Street to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 19-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and an unidentified individual suffering from a gunshot wound to his right arm. Both victims were transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Due to the 19-year-old victim’s injuries, Homicide detectives have been notified.
