Southern District Attempted Murder Arrest

In reference to the double shooting that occurred on January 6, 2023, in the 1100 block of Cambria Street, detectives have arrested a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old male.

Investigators learned that both suspects shot into a group of kids without warning, striking a 16-year-old male and 17-year-old female.

On January 11 detectives arrested the 16-year-old male suspect and on February 3, detectives arrested the 17-year-old male suspect.

Both suspects are currently being held at Central Booking Intake Facility where they were both charged with attempted 1st degree murder.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On January 6, 2023, at approximately 2:07 p.m., Southern District officers responded to the 1100 block of Cambria Street for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male who had been shot in the right ankle, and a 15-year-old female who was suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower left back. Both victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Southern District shooting detectives are investigating this incident.

Preliminarily, detectives have learned that an unknown black male walked up on a group of teenagers in the rear of the 1100 block of Cambria Street and opened fired, without warning.
