Southern District Attempted Murder Arrest

In regard to the shooting that occurred in the Southern District on August 31, 2024, investigators have arrested a 16-year-old male from Baltimore.

Investigators learned that the 16-year-old male suspect shot the 26-year-old male victim while in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road.

On September 11, 2024, an arrest warrant was approved for the 16-year-old suspect, and on September 13, 2024, detectives arrested the 16-year-old for attempted first-degree murder. The suspect is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility without bail.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On Aug. 31, 2024, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Southern District patrol officers heard discharging coming from the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road.  A short time later officers received a call for a walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment at an area hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, officers spoke with the 26-year-old male victim who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the body. The victim is listed in stable condition. 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road when he was shot.
