On October 18, 2022, Southern District patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Washington Boulevard, for a report of a shooting. 

Once there, officers located 40-year-old Elaine Jackson suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

 Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where she later died. 

Detectives quickly identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. 

On January 12, 2023, Warrant Apprehension detectives along with Atlanta Police Department’s USMS Taskforce, arrested Leon Hill, in Atlanta, Ga. 

Hill is currently being charged with 1st degree murder and is awaiting extradition back to Baltimore.
