In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Southern District on July 4, 2023, detectives have arrested 49-year-old Michael Atkinson of Baltimore.

Detectives learned that Michael Atkinson fatally stabbed 53-year-old Michael Raub while in the 1600 block of McHenry Street over an argument.

On July 14, 2023, Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested Atkinson in the 1500 block of Ramsey Street. Atkinson was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with 1^st-degree murder.

On July 4, 2023, at approximately 10:40 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of McHenry Street to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 53-year-old male suffering from what appeared to be life-threatening stab wounds to his chest. Medics responded and transported the victim to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Shock Trauma, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
