Southern District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Southern District on April 11, 2024, detectives have arrested 34-year-old Michael Conley of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Conley fatally shot his brother, 27-year-old Devon Thomas, following a dispute in the 3400 block of Spelman Road.

On April 12, 2024, U.S. Marshals and Warrant Apprehension Task Force detectives were able to track Michael Conley to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and with the assistance of Winston-Salem Police, Conley was arrested without incident.

On June 6, 2024, Conley was extradited to Baltimore where he was officially charged with first-degree murder.  

Conley is currently being held at the Central Booking Intake Facility with a no-bail status.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On April 11, 2024, at approximately 7:57 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 3400 block of Spellman Road for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics responded to the location and immediately began CPR on the victim.

Despite medical attention, the victim was later pronounced deceased.
