Southwest District Attempted Murder Arrest

On June 13, 2023, at approximately 11:11 p.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street in reference to a Shot Spotter alert.

Once there, officers were advised of a possible armed person inside an apartment in that block.

After a temporary barricade, 23-year-old Cornelius Williams of Baltimore was taken into custody in the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street without incident.

Officers located a 57-year-old male at the location, suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Cornelius Williams was transported to Central Booking Intake Facility, where he has been charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder and various handgun violations.
