Southwest District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the fatal stabbing that occurred on October 13, 2023, in the Southwest District, investigators have arrested 46-year-old Alphonso Ward of Washington, D.C.

Investigators learned that Ward fatally stabbed 41-year-old Kevin Miller in the 1600 block of Ramsey Street.

On October 14, 2023, detectives transported Alphonso Ward to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with first-degree murder.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On October 13, 2013, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Ramsay Street and South Gilmor Street to assist the fire department.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that two unidentified males were covered in blood. One of the males suffered numerous life-threatening stab wounds and was transported by medics to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The other unidentified male, still on the scene, suffered minor injuries and was treated by medics.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the incident had occurred in the 1600 block of Ramsay Street.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
