On November 14, 2023, at approximately 11:36 a.m., units in Foxtrot advised officers on the ground of an occupied stolen auto stopped at the intersection of North Conkling Street and Pulaski Highway.

Officers on foot approached the suspect's vehicle in an attempt to initiate a vehicle stop; the suspect accelerated his vehicle, dragging the officer several feet.

Officers stopped the vehicle and placed the 30-year-old suspect, later identified as Nicholas D. Peters, under arrest.

The injured officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Peters complained of leg pain and was transported to an area hospital before being taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will be charged accordingly.
