Suspect’s Identity Sought

In reference to an aggravated assault and sexual assault that occurred Nov. 7, 2023, at approximately 6:09 p.m. in Leakin Park, detectives need the public's help in identifying the suspect responsible. 

Officers responded to the 4300 – 4400 block of North Franklintown Road and spoke with a 71-year-old female, who stated that she was physically and sexually assaulted by an unidentified male during a walk through the Gwynns Falls Trail. 

The victim stated an unidentified male struck up a conversation with her and began to follow her. He quickly grabbed the victim and brandished a handgun. 

The victim attempted to flee from the suspect, resulting in a violent physical assault. The victim eventually managed to escape and find help.

The victim suffered severe injuries during the assaults and medics transported her to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a  light-skinned black male who appears to be in his 40s and has a bald head. He is approximately 5’9’’, wearing a dark jacket and plastic glasses.   

Northwest District Detectives and the department’s Special Investigations Section are investigating this incident.
