Western District Attempted Murder Arrest
On Aug. 31, 2024, at around 6:39 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Appleton Street to investigate a call for discharging of a firearm. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a 15-year-old male had used a handgun to shoot at a 15-year-old female.
Western District Action Team members responded to assist and immediately began to canvass the area for the suspect.
Detectives located the suspect, apprehended him, and recovered a handgun.
No injuries were sustained during this incident.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he will be charged with attempted first-degree murder and additional charges.
