Western District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Western District on May 25, 2024, investigators have arrested 22-year-old Korey Hopson of Baltimore.

Investigators learned Hopson killed 17-year-old Denzel Johnson and injured a 15-year-old male, in a shooting in the 900 block of North Dukeland Street.

On May 25, 2024, Korey Hopson was arrested in the 3900 block of Stokes Road after attempting to elude officers through a wooded area. Detectives transported Hopson to the Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with Murder and conspiracy in the first & second degree, attempted murder in the first and second, and assault

Western District Homicide Investigation

On May 25, 2024, at around 3:42 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of North Dukeland Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 17-year-old male suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Upon further canvassing, officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where the 17-year-old male was pronounced deceased and the 15-year-old is being treated for his injury. 

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
