On July 15, 2024, at approximately 1:03 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of East Oliver Street for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 27-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later by hospital staff.
