Eastern District Homicide Investigation

On August 18, 2024, at approximately 8:01 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of N. Spring Street in reference to multiple calls of a reported shooting.

Once there, officers located multiple victims on the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. A short time later, additional victims walked into area hospitals seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Eight total shooting victims were identified by officers.

The victims include a 36-year-old male, a 46-year-old male, a 23-year-old male, a 40-year-old male, a 41-year-old female, a 45-year-old male, a 22-year-old male, and an unidentified adult male.

Medics arrived at the location and transported the victims to area hospitals, where the 36-year-old male was pronounced deceased. The remaining victims range from critical condition to stable condition.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation.

On August 18, 2024, at approximately 4:11 p.m., Eastern District officers responded to the 1400 block of N. Decker Ave. in reference to a call for a reported shooting.

Once there, officers located a 26-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital l. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased.
 
Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
