Southwestern District Shooting Investigation

On Aug. 21, 2024, at approximately 11:28 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Yale Avenue for reports of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers observed an unidentified adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Due to the severity of his injuries, Homicide Detectives are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact them at 410-396-2100.

Southern District Shooting Investigation/ Police-Involved Discharging

On Aug. 21, 2024, at approximately 10:49 a.m., Southern District Patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Spelman Road for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 33-year-old male suffering from apparent life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Aid was rendered to the victim until medics responded to the location, transporting the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

While on the scene, responding officers were advised of a suspect still in the area. Patrol officers gave chase to the suspect, who withdrew a gun, firing it at an officer and an armed security guard.

The officer and security guard returned fire to the suspect.

Officers were able to arrest the suspect following a brief foot pursuit.

The 29-year-old suspect was transported to an area hospital for a leg injury.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On Aug. 21, 2024, at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of South Paca Street for reports of a shooting.

Once at the location, officers located an unidentified adult male victim suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On Aug. 21, 2024, at approximately 1:42 a.m., Western District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers located a 44-year-old male suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Investigators learned the victim was shot while walking in the 300 block of North Warwick Avenue.
