Eastern District Homicide Investigation

On Jan. 26, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of East Preston Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 20-year-old male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Northeast District Shooting Investigation -- Updated to an Injured Person

Update: Following further investigation, this incident has been determined to be an injured person, not a shooting.

On Jan. 26, 2024, at approximately 2:19 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Gainsborough Court for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 19-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the ankle.

An area canvass was conducted but a crime scene was not located.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Northeastern District Detectives are investigating.
