Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

On Jan. 29, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of South Caton Avenue to investigate a call for an accident involving two motor vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles involved in a collision. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, leaving one driver of a vehicle, a 29-year-old male, in critical condition.

Medics transported the 29-year-old male to the University of Maryland, Shock Trauma, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene.

CRASH team investigation responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Central District Shooting Investigation

On Jan. 29, 2024, at approximately 2:28 p.m., Central District patrol officers were patrolling the area of Lexington Market when they heard gunfire coming from the 300 block of Lexington Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old male victim, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. The victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Two persons of interest were seen fleeing on foot eastbound towards Lexington & Howard Street. Officers were able to apprehend those males.
