Northwest District Shooting Investigation

On January 29, 2023,  at approximately 11:50 a.m., Northwest District officers were on patrol in the 3300 block of Garrison Boulevard, when they were flagged down by a citizen, who advised officers that someone had been shot.

Officers began canvassing the neighborhood and were dispatched to the 3300 block of Ayrdale Avenue.

Officers located a 31-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital. At this time, the victim’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

Northwest District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Northern District Homicide Investigation

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Northern District officers were dispatched to the 4800 block of Kimberleigh Road to investigate a reported shooting.

Officers responded to the location and observed a 42-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital and pronounced deceased by medical personnel, a short time later.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Central District Homicide Shooting Investigation – UPDATE 

On January 28, 2023,  at approximately 6:39 p.m., Central District officers responded to the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street in reference to a Shot Spotter alert. 

Once there, officers located a 43-year-old male, a 65-year-old male and a 23-year-old female, all of whom were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. 

Medics transported the victims to area hospitals, where the 43-year-old male victim was pronounced deceased. The 23-year-old female and the 65-year-old male are listed in stable condition.

Two additional victims, a three-year-old male toddler and two-month-old male infant, were injured as a result of the vehicle collision that occurred when the driver was shot. The three-year-old toddler is in stable condition and the two-month-old infant is in critical, but stable condition.

Homicide investigators were summoned and assumed control over the investigation.

Central District Homicide Investigation – Update with victim ages and conditions:

Adult Male (43-years-old), deceased

Adult Male (65-years-old), stable condition

Adult Female (23-years-old), stable condition

Male Toddler (3-years-old), stable condition

Male Infant, (2-month-old), critical, but stable condition

The injured 3-year-old is currently in stable condition. The injured 2-month-old is currently in critical, but stable condition. After medical treatment, doctors determined that the children did not sustain gunshot wound injuries. Both victims sustained head trauma and lacerations, as a result of the vehicle collision that occurred when the driver was shot.

Northern District Shooting Investigation – Update

In reference to the shooting that occurred on January 28, 2023 in the 3000 block of Wylie Avenue, investigators are now investigating this incident as self-inflicted. The victim admitted to shooting himself.

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 4:57 p.m., Northern District officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Wylie Avenue to investigate a reported shooting. 

Officers responded and located a 32-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Northern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 3:56 p.m., Southeast District officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of May Court to investigate a reported shooting.

Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics was requested and the victim was transported to an area hospital.

Southeast District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 4:33 a.m., Southeast District officers were on patrol when they heard discharging in the 3400 Block of E. Fairmount Avenue.

Officers quickly located a 26-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Southeast District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.
