Eastern District Shooting Investigation

On July 16, 2024, at around 8:46 p.m., officers responded to the 3200 block of Lawnview Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers observed an 18-year-old male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition. 

Officers apprehended a 41-year-old male suspect in reference to this incident, and he now remains in police custody.

Eastern District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On July 16, 2024, at around 5:41 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Frederick Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 20-year-old male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased. 

Officers then received calls for two walk-in shooting victims at area hospitals. Upon arriving at the area hospitals, officers observed a 23-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, both suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.  

Preliminary investigation revealed that the 23-year-old male and 18-year-old male were shot in the 2400 block of Frederick Avenue. 

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
