Southern District Shooting Investigation

On May 10, 2024, at approximately 9:59 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a walking shooting victim seeking treatment.

Upon arrival at the hospital, officers spoke to a 41-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left shin. The victim has non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim stated that he was shot at the intersection of Laurens Street and North Fulton Avenue. 

Southern District Shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Southern District Shooting detectives at 410-396-2499.

Eastern District Homicide Investigation

On May 9, 2024, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to a home in the 2100 block of East Preston Street for a report of an unresponsive female.

Once there, officers located 40-year-old Janelle Desormeaux (B/F) unresponsive, suffering from trauma to the body.

Medics arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead at the location.

The victim's body was taken to the Medical Examiner's office where an exact cause of death will be determined.

Western District Homicide Investigation

On September 5, 2023, at approximately 4:36 p.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 800 block of North Fremont Street, for a report of a possible body in the rear of the location.

Once there, officers located human remains in an advanced state of decomposition.

The victim's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's office where the death was ruled to be a homicide on May 6, 2024. The manner of death was stabbing.

The adult male victim's identity is still unknown to investigators. The victim is believed to be in his 50s.
