Western District Shooting Investigation

On May 20, 2023, at approximately 9:21 p.m., Western District officers responded to the 1100 block of North Carey Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers located a 45-year-old male in the 1200 block of North Carey Street, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his left leg. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital to receive treatment for his injury.

Western District Shooting detectives responded and assumed control over the investigation.

Central District Homicide Investigation

On May 20, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Central District officers responded to the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unresponsive 32-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where despite life-saving measures, he was later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
