Fatal Hit & Run Investigation

On October 10, 2024, at around 3:53 a.m., officers responded to the 5700 block of Eastern Avenue to investigate a call for a hit and run involving a pedestrian. 

Upon arrival, officers observed a 32-year-old male suffering from life-threatening injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle described to be a silver pickup truck. After striking the 32-year-old male, the vehicle fled the scene. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital, where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased later that day. 

Crash Team investigators were summoned to the scene and assumed control over the investigation.

Northern District Homicide Investigation 

On October 10, 2024, at around 2:32 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Gilrubin Court to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. 

A short time later, officers received a call for a walk-in shooting victim at an area hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital, officers observed an unidentified male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds. 

Despite life-saving measures, both victims were pronounced deceased. 

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southeast District Shooting Investigation

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Southeast District responded to the 3500 block of Esther Place for a reported discharging of a firearm.  

Upon arrival, officers located a 57-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. The victim was transported to an area hospital listed in stable condition.

Southern District Shooting Investigation

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 12:22 p.m., the Southern District responded to the 3900 block of 10th Street for a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim was transported to an area hospital listed in stable condition.
