Southwest District Homicide Investigation

On October 27, 2024, at around 10:39 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of West Fayette Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unidentified male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Medics transported him to an area hospital where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Southern District Shooting Investigation upgraded to Homicide

Update: The 19-year-old female victim has succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on November 7, 2024, by hospital staff. 

On October 27, 2024, at approximately 3:43 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the unit block of  West Hamburg Street in reference to a shooting.

Once there, officers located a 19-year-old female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Due to the victim's injuries, Homicide detectives have been notified.

At approximately 4:14 a.m., district patrol officers were called to an area hospital where they located a 28-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Investigators learned the 28-year-old male victim was also shot while in the unit block of West Hamburg Street.
