Western District Homicide Investigation 

On September 25, 2023, at approximately 4:25 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Laurens Street and North Gilmor Street to investigate a call for a shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers observed a 15-year-old male suffering from numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds in the rear of the 1300 block of North Gilmor Street. Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where, despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased. 

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.

Central District Homicide Investigation

On September 25, 2023, at approximately 11:34 a.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of West Franklin Street to investigate a call for service.

Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased 26-year-old female with signs of blunt-force trauma. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took possession of the victim’s body. Next of kin notification will be made by detectives.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a missing person’s call had been dispatched a short time prior.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
