Southern District Shooting Investigation

On July 19, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to an area hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim.

Once there, officers located an 18-year-old male suffering from apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Investigators learned the victim was walking in the 1900 block of Harman Avenue when he heard multiple gunshots and realized he was struck.

Southeast District Homicide Investigation

On July 19, 2024, at around 8:01 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 500 block of North Kenwood Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 12-year-old female suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers and medics immediately began to administer CPR on the victim. However, despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
