Southwest District Shooting Investigation

On May 17, 2024, at approximately 10:51 a.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 800 block of Allendale Street, for a report of a shooting.

Once there, officers learned that workers from the Department of Public Works were in the rear of the location collecting trash when an unidentified male began shooting, striking a 42-year-old male DPW employee.

The victim was then loaded into the DPW vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
