On April 19, 2023, at approximately 8:28 p.m., a 16-year-old male was shot in the head in the 2600 block of Carver Road.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives responded out and assumed control of the investigation.

Not long after the incident occurred, a possible suspect was identified.

On April 26, 2023, detectives obtained an arrest warrant, charging a suspect with 1^st Degree Attempted Murder.

On the morning of April 27, 2023, the suspect, a 17-year-old male who was accompanied by his mother and lawyer, turned himself in at Police Headquarters.  He was interviewed and then transported to Central Booking where he has been charged as an adult.

The suspect is now waiting to see a court commissioner.
