Southern District Homicide Arrest

In reference to the homicide that occurred in the Southern District on August 1, 2024, investigators have arrested 28-year-old Paul Artis of Baltimore.

Investigators learned that Artis fatally shot and killed 38-year-old Ondrell Mayo in the 900 block of East Patapsco Avenue.

On August 6, 2024, Paul Artis was arrested at Baltimore Police headquarters where he was charged with Murder in the first degree.

Southern District Homicide Investigation

On August 1, 2024, at approximately 3:19 a.m., officers heard discharging in the 900 block of East Patapsco Ave. They responded and located an unidentified victim suffering from apparent multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
