On April 18, 2023, at approximately 2:47 a.m., Southern District patrol officers responded to the 500 block of East Jeffery Street, for a report of a cutting.

Once there, officers located an adult female suffering from apparent lacerations to the upper body.

Medics responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital, where she later died.
