Southwest District Police Involved Discharging
On September 5, 2023, at approximately 11:19 a.m., detectives were inside of a convenience store in the 3600 block of Wilkens Avenue, when they observed an unidentified adult male stealing from the location.
The suspect fled the store and entered a black colored SUV.
As the suspect attempted to flee the location, the suspect struck two officers with his SUV. Another officer then discharged his weapon at the suspect's vehicle.
Currently, it is unknown if the suspect was shot.
Medics responded to the scene and transported both officers to area hospitals for treatment.

The Baltimore Police Department’s Special Investigations Response Team (SIRT) is investigating this incident. The department has activated its Public Release of Critical Incident Recordings Policy.
