Southwestern District Shooting/Attempted Carjacking Investigation

On Aug. 3, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of West Lombard St. in reference to a shooting and armed carjacking.

When officers arrived, they were advised that a 16-year-old female victim had received an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound following an attempted carjacking.

The victim stated she was parked with two other individuals in the 5100 block of Levindale Road when she was approached by a suspect in a black ski mask with a black handgun. The suspect demanded the occupants get out of the car. The victim then reversed the car and drove away as the suspect fired into the vehicle.

Medics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
