Western District Attempted Murder Arrest

On Feb. 18, 2024, members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested 41-year-old Terrance Hazelwood in reference to the shooting and discharging that occurred in the Western District on Feb. 16, 2024 in the 1300 block of Laurens Street.

 

Detectives believe that Hazelwood shot a 31-year-old male and fired at officers who were responding to the scene of the shooting.

 

Detectives transported Hazelwood to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with multiple counts of attempted 1st degree murder and additional charges.

Western District Shooting Investigation

On Feb. 16, 2024, at approximately 8:54 p.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 1300 block of North Carey Street to investigate a reported shooting.

 

Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
