On August 17, 2024, at approximately 11:05 p.m., Western District officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Madison Ave. to investigate a call of a reported shooting.

Once at the location, officers learned that an MTA Police officer heard discharging in the area and an observed an unidentified male suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, Homicide Detectives responded to the scene.
